Join us for transformational learning experiences in some of Canada’s most unique communities.

Howl offers unique learning experiences across Canada for youth who don’t know what comes next in life. Since launching our first program in March 2022, we’ve had over 600 Indigenous and non-Indigenous youth participate in our programs.

What are you going to do next?
We might have the answer.

Our programs are designed to inspire career pathways and build confident, community-based lives. We offer a variety of programs for youth ages 14-30, from 3 days to a full semester in the Rockies. Howl Experiences will provide new experiences in new places with new people. Are you ready?

Upcoming Programs.

  • Howl Micro-Grant Program

    Rolling application deadline

Thanks to funding from Canada Service Corps, we are offering micro-grants of up to $5000 for innovative youth-led service projects. This is an opportunity for youth to take ownership of an issue, propose a solution and implement change at a local level.

Additional funding is available to eligible youth for additional training support to participate in a Howl Exploration.

  • Yukon Exploration for Educators

    May 23-28, 2025

Educators are invited to join this 6-day Howl Experience in the Yukon to get inspired by truly connecting to place through land based and relationship-centered learning - all while learning how to support your students in finding their voice, and meaningfully weave this unique experiential approach into your own teaching practice!

  • High School Programs

    Multiple Dates

We offer two core programs for high school groups: All My Relations and Creating Cultures of Belonging, as well as a summer CALM Peaks program (Career and Life Management 20). Our programs use the unique lens of land-based learning, in combination with the amplification of community voices, as tools to help youth understand their place in the world.

  • June Rockies Exploration

    June 13-18, 2025

Youth are invited to engage in community, and help support various volunteer community projects in the Bow Valley connected to National Indigenous Peoples Day. Through a relationship-based and land-based learning approach, participants will learn first hand from Stoney Nakoda community Elders, Knowledge Keepers, community leaders, and artists on their perspectives of personal resiliency, reconciliation, climate action, and sustainable community development.

  • Harvesting Spirit

    Indigenous Food Sovereignty Rockies Exploration

    September 26-October 2, 2025

Using both Indigenous and western Knowledge Systems, participants in this unique program will learn first hand from Stoney Nakoda Elders, knowledge holders, and community leaders on their perspectives of sustainability and resilience from the front lines of reconciliation, climate change, and community identity restoration, preservation and protection.

Howl is committed to Reconciliation with Indigenous Peoples.

The people behind Howl recognized that the programs that we offer are only one part of acting on Reconciliation. The structure of our organization serves as a teaching tool itself and is continuously evolving to meet the needs of individuals and communities. Howl is committed to being an organization that Indigenous youth, Elders, community members and service providers feel good about working with.

Why choose a Howl Experience?
